About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the preparation and execution of the Medical Affairs plan for marketed/pre-launch products in the Priority/Essential/Early portfolio Asset Group in close alignment with the Global/Regional Medical strategies & local Country Pharma Organization (CPO) needs.
- Strategically prepare and support the launch and commercialization of products through education of Medical Experts/ Key Stakeholders, and scientific exchanges seeking external insight to shape Novartis on market and development programs.
- Lead, coach, advocate for and develop a team of field Medical associates
- Work cross-functionally with other Novartis departments (mainly Marketing, Sales and Value & Access) to develop aligned business plans in pre/post-product launch phases in accordance with local health authority guidelines. Co-Lead and Co-Own relevant business.
- Assign tasks and TA-specific work to (Field) Medical Managers for the Early Portfolio/Priority/Essential products in an agile way which still ensures deep scientific expertise.
- Support other Early Portfolio/Priority/Essential products colleagues in phase I-IV protocol creation, monitoring plan, source document verification, preparation and collect study site documents, education, study drug handling, site initiation and closure etc.
- Overseeing all operational activities including strategic planning, budgeting, implementing and executing scientific projects & activities in compliance with local and international requirements
- MLT member and co-driver of Medical Affairs Team success
- Works within Integrity and Compliance policies and ensures those around him / her do the same (incl. ensuring local adherence to P3 and local regulations).
Essential Requirements:
- Education : MD, PharmD or biomedical education. PhD in Health Sciences
- Languages : English and Dutch fluent spoken & written
- In-depth understanding of the Dutch Pharma market including key dynamics, competitors, country regulatory and market environments
- Pharmaceutical industry experience
- Strong medical and scientific bases and agility to transverse the diseases’ arena as well as strong medical and scientific writing skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Strong business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset as well as strong communication skills and customer orientation
