As a Senior Expert you will be part of a team called Process analytics and analytical sciences focusing on support of Biologics technical development by providing on-time and high quality physico-chemical analytics results. About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • You will be part of a team that is focused on physico-chemical analytics for support of biologics technical development in Mengeš in Slovenia.

  • You will deliver, evaluate and interpret results, draw relevant conclusions; supervise project related activities; perform complex tasks without having established procedures.

  • Test, implement, troubleshoot and if required develop complex physico-chemical methods for protein analytics.
  • Maintain analytical instruments and train newcomers on your technique of expertise.
  • Coordinate a local team working on a specific analytical method to obtain results on-time.
  • Work in routine analytics, review results obtained by coworkers and perform analyses on your own.
  • Promote laboratory automation and application of automated principles for execution of analyses.
  • Guide implementation of new methods for diverse protein formats.
  • Deliver assigned projects and activities on time, within scope, and with quality (e.g. timely execution of method implementation).

  • Provide scientific and technical guidance for co-workers; actively foster knowledge exchange.
  • Exchange with experts across Novartis within technology or method specific workstreams.
  • Develop, mentor and coach other associates; present scientific /technical results internally and contribute to external publications and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance of activities with quality standards (DQP), safety standards (HSE) and other Novartis standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Sound technical & scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical development, analytical sciences, or equivalent.

  • You have been working in a lab for several years and have hands-on experience in Phys-Chem analytics (e.g. using (U)HPLC, CE and/or mass spectrometry instrumentation).

  • Able to work with Office 365 package including SharePoint and Teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in oral and written English.

Desirable Requirement:

  • MSc in biochemistry / protein chemistry / other relevant scientific field, PhD is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Glavne odgovornosti:

  • • Delo v teamu, ki je fokusiran na fizikalno-kemijsko analitiko za podporo Tehničnemu razvoju bioloških zdravil v Mengšu v Sloveniji.
  • • Pridobivanje in vrednotenje analitskih rezultatov, poročanje relevantnih zaključkov; nadzor nad projektnimi dejavnostmi; opravljanje kompleksnih nalog brez že določenih postopkov.
  • • Testiranje, izvajanje, odpravljanje težav in po potrebi razvijanje kompleksnih fizikalno-kemijskih metod za analitiko proteinov.
  • • Vzdrževanje analitskih instrumentov in usposabljanje novih sodelavcev v tehnologijo.
  • • Vodenje lokalne ekipe, ki dela z določeno analitsko metodo za pravočasno zagotavljanje rezultatov.
  • • Delo v rutinski analitiki, pregledanje rezultatov sodelavcev v teamu kot tudi samostojno opravljanje analiz kot izvajalec-/ka.
  • • Promoviranje laboratorijske avtomatizacije in uporaba avtomatiziranih principov pri izvajanju analiz.
  • • Implementacija novih metod za različne proteinske formate.
  • • Izvedba dodeljenih projektov in dejavnosti pravočasno, v okviru obsega in z visoko kakovostjo (npr. pravočasna izvedba implementacije metode).
  • • Zagotavljanje znanstvenega in tehničnega vodenja za sodelavce; spodbujanje izmenjave znanja v teamu.
  • • Izmenjava s strokovnjaki/-injami širše v Novartisu, znotraj delovnih skupin na določeni tehnologij ali metodi.
  • • Razvoj, mentoriranje in usposabljanje drugih sodelavcev/-k; predstavitev znanstvenih/tehničnih rezultatov teamu in oddelku ter prispevki k zunanjim publikacijam ali predstavitvam.
  • • Zagotavljanje skladnosti v skladu s standardom kakovosti (DQP), standardi varnosti pri delu (ZVO) in drugih standardov Novartisa.

Minimalni pogoji:

  • • Tehnična in znanstvena znanja o farmacevtskem razvoju, analitičnih znanostih ali njim primerljivih področjih.
  • • Večletno delo v laboratoriju in izkušnje s fizikalno-kemijsko analitiko (npr. z uporabo (U)HPLC, CE in/ali masne spektrometrije).
  • • Sposobnosti dela z Office 365, vključno s SharePointom in Teams.
  • • Odlične komunikacijske in prezentacijske spretnosti.
  • • Dobro znanje angleškega jezika, tako v govorjenem kot pisnem jeziku.

 

Željen pogoji:

  • • Magisterij iz biokemije/proteinske kemije/drugih relevantnih znanstvenih področij, doktorat je prednost.
  • • Najmanj 5 let izkušenj v farmacevtski industriji.
