Summary

Sales Leader leading a diverse sales team across the Solid Tumours TA. Strategic market shaping for new brand indication.

Responsible for leading the sales function direct accountability for sales targets for the organization. Manages day to day operational aspects of the sales function across a large country and lead the sales team. Responsible for delivery of sales targets and market share for specialized products within the business unit. Brings specialist knowledge in the required therapeutic area.

About the Role

Location
This role is based in the London office in the UK on a hybrid working basis which requires 12 days per month in the office

Key accountabilities

Business:

  • Responsible for shaping & executing the TA Business Strategy to achieve budget through strong cross functional collaboration with the Marketing, Marketing & Sales & V&A Director along with the TA Medical Director.
  • Navigate complexity to be able to make prioritization decisions through analytical rigour with the agility to challenge & adapt strategy.
  • Consults with the TA Head to lead the overall TA business by providing advice & expertise on sales/Field force matters.
  • Co-ordinates strong cross functional team working & resource deployment to ensure consistent execution of strategy & delivery of results.
  • Participates in TAB, providing insights, leadership and demonstrating an enterprise approach contributing to key TA decisions impacting current & future success.
  • Provides analysis, insight, challenge & recommendations to IMLT and other senior internal stakeholders through a customer lens

Customer

  • Lead the Customer Engagement Strategy through awareness of competitors, innovating, tracking & adapting to ensure we are customer obsessed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key accounts/ hospitals/ customers as needed, creating joint value through customer centric engagement and commercial rigor, driving critical commercial outcomes for Novartis alongside high levels of customer advocacy and engagement.

People Activation

  • Creating line of sight: Provides focus and clarity on the strategic direction and translates this for team members and customers in a compelling way to create engagement and commitment.
  • Lead, support & coach the Field Sales Leaders to execute the strategy through aligned business plans that deliver the required business results; managing the national operating budget & allocates resources as required.
  • Accountable for embedding a Performance Culture focused on driving collective accountability with standards being raised and ensuring aligned approach across the business.
  • Responsible for the creation of motivational tertial incentive schemes for the Sales Teams along with identifying the correct methodology for target setting to ensure the budget is delivered.
  • Support and lead the focus on the organizational cultural aspirations through role modelling and ensuring a consistent fair approach across the team and all activities.
  • Recruiting, retaining & developing talent across the organization.

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale sales frontline sales management.
  •  Experience of delivering performance targets & budgets across a large XFT.
  • Effective communication & collaboration skills & proven ability to work & lead large, diverse, complex cross functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of the NHS and the local health economy demonstrating a customer focused mindset.
  • Considerable experience working with commercial, medical, marketing, business excellence and access teams or desirable to have experience of working in relevant roles within these teams
  • Project Management along with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities to deliver on time and in budget.
  • Proven experience in leading change & market shaping
  • Knowledge and proven experience in managing performance.
  • Proven ability to drive business growth, retaining talent, inspiring & motivating the team.
