About the role:

We are building a novel non-clinical statistics function within our Data Science and Modeling and Simulation team in PK Sciences which is part of our Translational Medicine Organization. We are seeking an energetic and visionary leader who will build this new function, engage with stakeholders across Biomedical Research. This role is pivotal in driving the integration of statistical methodologies into our research, supporting one of our key disease areas directly. This position will be a member of our interdisciplinary analytical leadership team.

About the Role

Key responsibilities:

 

·       Function Development: Build and lead an industry leading non-clinical statistics function to support our different disease areas and functions.

·       Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across Biomedical Research to integrate statistical insights into research and development processes.

·       Support Disease Area: Provide statistical support and expertise for one of our disease areas.

·       Leadership: Serve as a member of our interdisciplinary analytical leadership team and represent non-clinical statistics on internal boards as needed.

·       Methodological Innovation: Drive the development and application of novel statistical methodologies to enhance data analysis and interpretation.

·       Training and Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior statisticians and data scientists, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

 

Essential requirements

 

·       Education: Ph.D. or MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.

·       Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in non-clinical statistics, with a strong background in translational medicine or biomedical research.

·       Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

·       Technical Skills: Expertise in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python).

·       Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

·       Innovation: Demonstrated ability to drive methodological innovation and apply advanced statistical techniques to complex problems.

·       Fluent in English (oral and written).
