Summary

The purpose of the role is to lead the integration architecture of the SCAPE Statistical Compute Environment (SCE) according to the defined requirements. This includes intra-SCE integrations across the tools that collectively form the SCE, as well as integrations upstream and downstream to the SCE. Integration designs and architecture will include various integration patterns and data modalities and must take into account network and firewall rules, and business needs. The integrations will evolve over time as SCAPE and other Novartis Development projects make progress. This role will therefore actively partner with other key projects to roadmap the integration architecture transition states so the SCE evolves in coordination with other key Development products. You will collaborate with other project team members to deliver the SCE solution on time and within budget.

- Sound knowledge and experience in architecting integrations across an evolving and complex system landscape
- Solid understanding of clinical trial processes and leveraging quantitative sciences and toolsets in regulatory and exploratory pathways
- Understanding of different data modalities (ex. Biomarkers, Omics, Imaging)
- Strong knowledge of Clinical data standards (CDISC – SDTM, ADAM, USDM)
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework methodology to deliver products

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and evolve the integration architecture of the SCAPE SCE according to the SCE roadmap and in alignment with roadmaps of upstream and downstream Development systems.
  • Optimize and evolve SCE integration architecture for efficiency, in alignment with enterprise strategies, standards and requirements, while delivering business value.
  • Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap, strategies and policies, and support the development, execution and operations of the SCE
  • Ensure peer review and sign off of SCE integration architecture and Ensure that detailed integration architecture and design adheres to the SCE solution architecture design (i.e. high-level conceptual design) and is traceable to functional as well as non-functional requirements
  • Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Service Delivery scope
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders (architecture / business / vendor partners) to deliver the SCE product
  • Coordinate with all other scrum teams and workstreams on the SCAPE project to deliver a quality SCE product on time and within budget
  • Maintain and evolve Architecture tools and platforms, principles, policies and standards
     

Essential Requirements
 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering or information technology discipline. An advanced degree and related accreditations are a plus

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience working in an IT environment in a regulated Pharma environment
  • Experience architecting integrations across a multi-cloud network
  • Experience collaborating across geographical and organizational boundaries
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean/ 6 Sigma, Design Thinking, Agile methodology
  • Technology-focused on data science platforms and experienced with cloud implementations.
  • Leveraging digital technology and effective change management to deliver value.
  • Track record delivering global solutions at scale, and interactions with senior management
    Delivery of validated IT solutions and collaborating across boundaries,
  • Experience in IT enterprise & business architecture, IT solution architecture, performance management, managing resources, consulting, IT governance, consulting and quality decision making,
