Summary

To lead the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) discipline in Region Europe, with very strong focus in Germany, to ensure that the organization has high-caliber diverse talent across all commercial roles and functions.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Act as a thought partner for Head P&O in Germany and Region Europe countries to shape the long-term vision and country DEI strategy.

  • Serve as Country Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and bridge between our DEIC team and the local P&O organization to build country specific plans to attract, develop and retain a diverse workforce and promote the use of diversity, equity and inclusion to grow the business

  • Partner across local business and the P&O teams to ensure needs are understood and opportunities for collaboration, co-creation and prioritization are identified.

  • Develop and implement a global «customer» representation strategy, closely working together with global DEI Equity areas, R&D organization (NIBR, GDD), patient engagement and Commercial to build an equiable healthcare environment for patients, healthcare professionals, and healthcare systems along the Novartis product life cycle with focus on marketing and sales.

  • Identify and leverage data-driven and external market insights to identify best practices to support design and adaptation of programs and solutions to the local context

  • Identify critical (future) gaps in the country organization and implement actions to close them.

  • Establish meaningful local benchmarks, baselines and aspirations to measure success for DEI & Culture.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant degree, in related field
  • Proficiency in English required (verbal & written). Additional languages, specifically German is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience developing & implementing DEI & Culture strategy, ideally within healthcare / pharma.
  • Significant experience gained in Organizational development.
  • Experience working with DEI metrics for diverse workforce and culture indicators.
  • Experience working cross functionally and ability to influence.
  • Strong interpersonal & influencing skills for critical negotiations –ability to manage stakeholders.
