Summary

Are you passionate about Statistics and interested in finding out more about the pharmaceutical industry? We are offering several internship positions as part of our Novartis Basel Biostatistics internship program for motivated Master and PhD students.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Focus on the development or application of statistical methods in clinical research and development. Mathematical, statistical, graphical or programming techniques will be used for data analysis, simulation and display 
  • Participate in a variety of educational opportunities within the Biostatistics function of the Advanced Quantitative Sciences (AQS) department 
  • This internship will provide motivated students with exposure to the pharmaceutical industry, and with the opportunity to work in an exciting, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment with senior-level biostatisticians 

  

Start date: Flexible, starting from March 

Duration: The internship is expected to last approximately 3 months (exceptionally 6 months) 

Location:   Basel (hybrid - 60% in office) 
 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Current students enrolled in a Master’s or PhD degree with a substantial statistical component (e.g. Statistics, Biostatistics or Mathematics etc.).  
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English are required 
  • Good understanding of common statistical methodology and be interested in its application in drug development 
  • Programming skills in a statistical programming language such as  R are expected
