As Senior Manager Global Financial Reporting, you will ensure accurate and timely reporting of the actual financial figures for Novartis (>$45bn sales). Ensure proper documentation and correct recording of all global bookings impacting the consolidated divisional and group numbers, (especially ensure accurate pre-profit booking for Novartis).
You will act as safety net for Novartis org units by ensuring that no material mistake gets consolidated into the divisional figures, supporting business to drive for sustainable growth by providing meaningful financial information.
You will also be responsible for C&R Divisional NFCM Controls compliance, monitoring and remediation as well as lead, organize and ensure implementation of defined C&R FRA Ops projects impacting the global C&R team and the divisions and OUs served by C&R.

About the Role
- Accountable for timely delivery and accuracy of closing deck (Work with NPMR, MRG and FCRS team to create month end deck, ensures high quality and constant improvement of closing deck, modify and adjust deck as needed to flag risks of business to CFO).
- Responsible to lead closing call (Organizes and keep minutes of closing call, Drives CFO, BPA and Head FRA through the deck).
- Responsible to maintain relationship with external auditors (Act as main point of contact for PWC manager, Support head FRA during clearance meeting, Provides timely and accurate answers to queries from PWC team).
- Accountable to keep track and monitor significant transactions (Organize and lead monthly touch points with business, Document and share list of significant transactions and risks with head FRA).
- Accountable to deliver high quality BSR on a quarterly basis (Work with NPMR, FCRS and MRG team to create BSR, Ensures high quality and constant improvement, Ensure timely follow up on action items).
- Responsible to support business and TA team (Lead country review visits as required by Head FRA or businessn Lead pool projects, Support BPA team and functional finance team on any accounting or reporting topic)
- Responsible to work with NPMR, FCRS and MRG team to improve quality and efficiency of month end close, target and LO process.
- Accountable to provide meaningful reports to BPA and functional finance team (Work with BPA and functional finance team to understand key needs, Regularly review available data and flag issues, Improve data quality through Deep FCRS score monitoring, Provide meaningful analysis to BPA to enable them to drive sustained growth).
- Responsible of NFCM Divisional controls (Internal expert on Divisional controls within C&R and Technical Accounting team, Responsible for monitoring, following up and remediation on testing results performed by FC&C and PWC of NFMC Divisional Matrix for all divisional controls for all Divisions, Accountable to ensure compliance to above country framework and all controls above maturity level 3, Point of contact for FC&C team, PWC and C&R team members for any questions on Divisional controls, Designated responsible for work stream related to internal controls for C&R related projects).
- Responsible to lead defined C&R FRA Ops projects (Define and obtain agreement on the project charter, Mobilize project team to deliver milestones according to timelines, Collaborate and ensure key stakeholders are involved in the project, Run the governance model to ensure project remains on track).
Minimum requirements:
- Master's Degree preferred (Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant)
- Fluent in English both written and spoken (German, Spanish and French of advantage)
- Overall relevant work experience acquired in Audit and Financial Reporting & Accounting with strong experience in Big 4 and/or Public Accounting experience
- Financial Reporting systems: excellent experience acquired in global consolidation and evaluating reporting systems
- External Reporting and/or Compliance Function: excellent experience acquired in one of these areas in a multinational company
- Knowledge of SAP, JDE and Essbase
- BPA experience
