About the Role
Your Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for leading a state-of-the-art laboratory of BSc/MSc level scientists to discover and develop novel therapies for the treatment of immunological diseases of the skin and to progress translational research to understand the pathophysiology of a broad range of dermal diseases.
You will:
- Establish in vitro and in vivo assays as well as translational models to assess the innovative potential of novel therapeutic approaches in these diseases.
- Lead or contribute to early drug discovery projects within multidisciplinary teams up to clinical proof-of-concept studies in patients
- Define and execute on innovative scientific strategies, test novel disease-relevant hypotheses and propose transformative therapies
- Closely collaborate with scientists, clinicians, data scientists and technology experts across different departments in the global organization.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- PhD degree in immunology, autoimmunity, molecular biology or related field + a minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience in an academic setting and/or in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector
- In-depth knowledge of human and mouse immunology, most preferably cutaneous immunology or allergy, proven by significant scientific accomplishments and successful collaborations documented by publications in high-impact journals
- Experience with cutting-edge technologies, novel therapeutic approaches and assay development
- Analytical thinking and excellent skills in organization of complex tasks, communication and presentation
- Strong team spirit and a collaborative mindset
Desirable requirements:
- Experience in drug discovery and assay development for profiling of novel therapeutics in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting is a great plus.
- Experience in leading associates and cross-functional teams is desirable
- Background of working in an industry setting is advantageous
