The job purpose is to act as a Program and Project management lead leading a team of project associates to deliver IT solutions. We are looking for an experienced individual in S&G (Strategy & Growth) IT space to lead end to end delivery of the solutions that re-define how Novartis operates.
About the Role
As DevOps Lead your responsibilities include:
- Build and drives DevSecOps strategy in area under scope
- Help teams adopt and mature DevOps framework and culture in the area of responsibility
- Serve as a technical expert for project teams while providing consultation to help ensure new and existing software solutions are developed
- Create, maintain and iterate on our CI/CD processes for new and existing services
- Lead system incident support and troubleshooting for complex and non-complex issues
- Focus on value measurement to assess pain points, best practice adoption and automated releases with a clear focus on solution and value
- Support deployment automation, environment modeling and workflow orchestration to achieve rapid delivery of application features in a reliable and efficient manner
- Onboard team members to the DevSecOps platform tools.
- Script and automate the continuous integration process.
As a Program manager your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the delivery of internal and outsourced programs and projects from initiation to transition to operations
- Engage with global business leaders and leverage the appropriate IT teams and Functions to determine requirements and deliver IT solutions to improve efficiency and generate value.
- Delivering projects on time and within budget and to meet the desired business objectives
- Establishing plan and initiating project mobilization by confirming project scope, estimate, resources, roles and responsibilities
- Ensuring appropriate use of project management methods and tools depending on the type of project (e.g. Agile)
- Directing outputs of the project team, ensuring overall success of project and effective use of resources
- Monitoring and controlling execution of project and establish project governance, managing risks and issues
- Ensuring project adherence with Data privacy, Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Project Management service scope. Have in-depth understanding of the validation procedures followed in a regulated environment.
- Engage with various user communities in S&G space to identify high priority subject areas. Develop project rationale and perform scoping assessments to determine feasibility of projects.
- Liaise with the service development team to suggest a high-level functional solution.
- Develop project estimates and complete financial model (costs, savings, etc.)
- Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in specification of new services and/or major upgrades to existing services.

- Help drive change management and uptake of emerging tools and ways of working.
- Ensure implemented solutions are according to specifications and fit for purpose.
- Support definition, implementation and tracking of effectiveness of best practices.
- Ability to understand and communicate with many different stakeholders, e.g., those in business, IT and quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language). .
- Knowledge of / exposure to Drug Research, Development or Commercialization portfolios would be an advantage
- Lead and moderate various project team including Agile ceremonies as applicable
- Present program summary, highlight risks to senior management and steering committees.
- Superior leadership, interpersonal, communication, collaboration, influencing, negotiation, problem solving skills and stakeholder management
- Superior project and program management skills, including strong knowledge of and ability to apply various methodologies (e.g. ICE, PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall etc.)
- Must bring hands on experience on driving Agile delivery including working knowledge of DevOps processes and tools
- General understanding of current technologies especially in the data space, and their application to enable business value
- Experience working in a global, multi-cultural and matrix environment
- Experience in delivering GxP IT solutions is an added advantage

Role Requirements
Education:
- University degree in Informatics, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences or similar
Experience / Professional requirements
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Program / Project Manager
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in working in the Pharma or IT Industry
- Min 3 years of experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines, configuration management and exposure to DevSecOps
- Expertise in many of the CI/CD (continuous integration &continuous deployment) tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, BitBucket, etc.
