Ljubljana, 10 May 2024 - For the 14th consecutive year, Novartis Slovenia is organizing BioCamp, a traditional scientific event for students of science, economics and engineering. This year, the three-day forum will take place in September in Bled, under the theme "Reimagining Life, Together: Cutting-edge science meets next generation". Young talents are invited to apply, and applications are open until 10 June 2024.
BioCamp is one of our innovative HR internships, offering selected students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and business studies a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and develop their careers. Working with renowned experts and leading executives, students gain quality insights into the workings of the innovative international pharmaceutical industry and the latest industry trends, and can co-create the future of science, entrepreneurship and technology for the benefit of patients by developing their own ideas.
Innovative therapies to fight cancer
The theme of this year's event is Radioligand Therapies (RLTs), one of Novartis' new advanced technology platforms, which play an important role in creating innovative solutions to the biggest health challenges of modern society, including cancer, one of the leading causes of mortality in Slovenia and worldwide. This topic will introduce students to the need for innovative approaches and the broad spectrum of expertise required throughout the process of discovery, development, production, commercialisation and final delivery of breakthrough medicines to patients.
BioCamp brings many opportunities for students
Prospective young people will gain invaluable experience by networking with other selected students from different countries and interacting with key experts and leading executives. They will learn about the professional and business environment of the global innovative pharmaceutical industry, and participate in the discovery and design of new business solutions to real challenges in the pharmaceutical industry. They will have the opportunity to present their ideas and solutions to a panel of experts, while opening up important career opportunities. BioCamp is also a great opportunity to get to know our company. Of the nearly 500 young talents who have participated in the event so far, more than 50 have been recruited by Novartis in the past years, which means that the event also offers a unique opportunity for career development.
