At Novartis, engineers play a key role in the development of state-of-the-art technologies and processes that enable the development and production of innovative medicines. The Novartis Engineering department is responsible for setting up all assets, buildings, facilities, infrastructure and equipment to produce medicines. It also includes maintaining all machinery and systems and ensuring operational reliability. They also ensure that the buildings in which production and development take place are operational, that the systems are working, and that the appropriate environmental conditions required by the specific work process or the medicines are ensured.
Robert Hribar has been part of the company for many years and currently heads engineering at the Novartis Corporate Centre. He currently leads two large global engineering teams, in Slovenia and India. As he points out, they are involved in projects from California to Japan, sometimes leading the whole project, sometimes just one part. Since they set up such a global organization in 2022, they have become very visible and have grown quite a lot as a result, and they are always looking for new colleagues.
