The Global Program Management Office (GPMO) Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the program management function within the organisation by driving GPM excellence and capability building. The GPMO Director will be responsible for implementing best practices and enhancing program management processes. They will also be responsible for providing GPM reports and analytics to support data-driven decision-making, leading strategic initiatives within the Global Program Management Office (GPMO). The GPMO Director will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, drive overall organisational success, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive GPM Excellence and develop and implement a comprehensive program management framework, including standardized processes, tools, and templates for GMP associates and GPM DU Leads.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, automation & AI initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define program objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Gather and analyse data related to program management to generate reports and analytics that pro-vide insights into program performance, identify areas for improvement, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Enhance and develop the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of the GPM team by identifying training needs, designing, and implementing training programs, mentoring and coaching team members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Provide GPMO expertise and leadership in the areas of planning, tracking, scenario-generation, contingency development, critical path analysis, and risk management.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement of program management practices, leveraging industry best practices and lessons learned.
  • Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for improvement, making pro-active recommendations and implementing appropriate changes.
  • Share reports and analytics with senior leaders to help stakeholders and leadership make informed decisions, assess program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee program budgets and resource allocation, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (or MBA with bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in life science)
  • Pharma industry experience with multi / cross functional leadership experience
  • Advanced knowledge in drug development process, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects
  • Solid understanding of program management methodologies, experience with program management tools desirable
  • Ability to train and mentor team members effectively
  • Well organised, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects, excellent time management skills with respect to priorities and self-management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) for bridging across diverse, cross functional, multi-national, geographically dispersed teams
