About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Lead Novartis Enterprise wholesaler and aligned Retail Banner group, joint business planning, strategic relationships, and contractual negotiations, influences and builds enduring relationships
- Implement Commercial and educational strategies in Retail banners groups delivering long term sustainable partnerships focused on patient outcomes
- Develop and execute supply chain, trading term and distribution access strategies within a diverse customer channel mix including wholesale, community pharmacy, public and private hospital accounts, specialty distributors, and direct accounts.
- Determine national trade strategy across the Novartis portfolio in conjunction with the In Market Brands Business Unit team & other Priority Therapeutic Areas Leads where required
- Champion innovation in supply and distribution models including Pre-launch PFP, Private market and direct to customer.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate concepts and implementation initiatives/projects cross functionally
- Track competitive intelligence across trade channels and manage internal communications to leverage opportunity with respective teams
- Contribute to new trade channel development and execution
- Lead coordination and stakeholder management for trade channel key events including pricing, supply shortages, new product planning, end to end rebate process. Lead and support end of month landing of Novartis sales with co-ordination of Supply chain team and finance cross functional teams
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and significant relevant experience and/or qualifications required.
- 7+ years of experience in Australian pharmaceutical industry, including 5+ years of trade channel, distribution or supply chain management.
- Direct account experience within Specialty Pharmacy and/or Specialty Distribution preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain processes, wholesale and distributor networks.
- Advanced negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Confidence and Executive Presence.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.
- Proficiency in MS office applications.
- Excellent financial literacy and analytical capacity.
- Understanding of business intelligence platforms including IQVIA, Nostradata, PBS10%, is desirable.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry including knowledge of pharmacy channel, hospital networks, PBS price disclosure, and market dynamics.
