Resumé
The main role of the Site Engineering Head is to ensure that the engineering department establishes, executes, maintains, and enhances the engineering procedures in relation to buildings, equipment, utilities, energy and environmental sustainability, commissioning and qualification, automation, facility management.
The Site Engineering Head is part of the Site Leadership Team.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical site strategy plan (Capex Plan, recapitalization of equipment, obsolescence management, budgeting, etc.) and oversight of its implementation.
- Set objectives and proactively manage the performance of the Engineering department.
- Ensure availability of competent, high performing people and develop the talent pool.
- Ensure the inspection readiness of the Engineering department; support audits and inspections.
- Establish cost-efficient repair and maintenance processes in compliance with local regulations, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Account for technical availability, reliability, and condition of production plants and infrastructures
- Define and execute asset strategy and proper asset lifecycle management. Support innovation, data and digital site initiatives, and state-of-the art technology to support productivity journey.
- Develop with procurement, the required strategy and framework to manage vendors / contractors, ensuring the best service at a competitive cost
- Teams in charge of Process Maintenance, Operation and maintenance of Utilities, Project Engineering, Asset Lifecycle Management, Commissioning and Qualification, Automation, Facility Management, Business Development.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent
- Leadership experience: line management of large group (>100p) with several management layers and/or successful project management of major investment projects. Seasoned financial acumen.
- Excellent project management skills including contract management and project appraisal / financial knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively present complex ideas and solutions to executive management, technical experts and regional / local teams. Strong stakeholder management skills to liaise and collaborate with global partners.
- Strategic thinking. Strong ability and resilience to embrace and facilitate change. Pragmatic and committed.
- Fluent in English and French

- Ideally, in-depth technical knowledge in chemical and / or pharmaceutical processes and equipment
