Novartis is an active member of the communities within which it is based. With a long history particularly in the Cork region, the Company has developed in conjunction with the communities a strong and open relationship.
One of the biggest elements of community engagement is the annual Community Partnership Day which sees Novartis employees in Ireland and across the globe nominate worthy community projects and engage in volunteering to make these projects a reality. An integral part of the Novartis global CSR programme, the Community Partnership Day also marks the creation of Novartis in 1996 as a global leader in healthcare.
2013 marked the 17th Community Partnership Day for Novartis. Across the globe an estimated 16,500 associates, across 56 different countries took part and at Novartis Ringaskiddy. We flew the flag for Ireland with over 115 volunteers rolling up their sleeves, providing over 1,000 work hours working on a series of worthy projects over the course of the day.
