About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Leads the Health, Safety and Environment function and program execution in the Novartis Corporate Centre, Dublin (Commercial setting)
- Fosters good relations with global and regional Health Safety and Environment and local key stakeholders
- Collaborates and partners at local level with various functions, including Site Head, Real Estate & Facilities Services (REFS), People and Organization (P&O), Commercial, Finance, Communications, Regional HSE and HSE Governance Teams to ensure the HSE agenda is driven through the business.
- Sets the HSE strategy for the site, based on risks, opportunities and Global Commercial HSE initiatives
- Direct management of HSE Service providers, including Occupational Health service and any other required services that deliver HSE programme solutions
- Ensures collection and verification the site HSE data provided to the Global Health Safety and Environment team
- Ensures timely reporting and escalation of incidents at site level
- Supports root cause investigations and lessons learned sharing of incidents.
- Guide the local Site Leadership Team, acting as a role model in HSE and ensuring alignment between the global HSE policies and local needs.
- Implementation of required HSE programs for Commercial Teams, including Driver Safety, Ergonomics, HSE Inductions and Emergency Response
- Communicate clearly and effectively as required with Novartis associates on HSE matters
- Management of the HSE ONCE Controls Process and HSE legal register
Minimum Requirements:
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in HSE in a matrixed organization
- Direct experience of HSE Management in a Commercial Operations/Sales & Marketing/Corporate Head Office environments
- Experience of managing HSE program execution on a multi-site basis preferred
- Third level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Proven leadership capabilities and ability to manage stakeholders effectively
- A willingness to develop and aim to play a role in the wider Novartis HSE organization as required
