The Associate Director External Partner Management (TRD Biologics & CGT) will be part of the Biologics Global Alliance Management team, responsible for managing and overseeing our strategic partnerships besides providing the legal framework in close collaboration with other disciplines.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develops global cross-functional strategic outsourcing vision in close collaboration with other TRD Disciplines and other Novartis functions (e.g. BR, Technical Operations).
- Establish strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to strategically develop, implement and optimize vendor management processes, tools and policies to achieve performance objectives.
- Manages, contributes and oversees all legal and contractual aspects related to alliance management in close collaboration with TRD External Partner Management Network, Procurement, Quality, Legal, IP, and Bx disciplines and scientific office.
- Ensures fully compliant processes and execution within our quality systems regulations such as but not limited to product quality and compliance, HSE, good logistics practices, security, finance and accounting.
- Drives cost and scope negotiations for contract executions with global vendors and drive interactions with global business partners, ensuring processes and systems are in place to ensure state-of-the-art productivity, efficiency and reliability including risk mitigation plans.
- Design, align and harmonize processes across 3rd Parties in alignment to Novartis standards.
- Serve as single Point of contact for efficient operational integration of in-licensing (upon Opt-in) or divesture of out-licensing projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- University degree in Life Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.).
- Sound experience with Technical Expert studies (or equivalent).
- Excellent English required (oral & written).
Desirable Requirements:
- MBA and/or Ph.D.
- German knowledge.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 77.543,90/year (on a full-time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job-sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
