Assoc. Director AWS D&A Platform Analytics will lead the vision, roadmap, architecture and platform engineering development for the enterprise-wide Analytics AWS Platform on the cloud covering the capabilities across Analytics, Data Engineering and Security. Technical hands-on experience to lead the MVP or Tech Spike with Platform Engineer with Business Facing Function teams. Maximize the business value of the AWS Analytics Platforms by working closely with DDIT and business partners to enable delivery of various use cases. Drive continuous platform improvements ensuring robust operations, architecture, cost efficiency and optimization.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
Technical Guidance: This role will play the Platform lead role for Unify+ Analytics platforms products. You will provide technical leadership to a team of excellent Platform engineers; this requires that you have the technical depth to make complex design decisions and the hands-on ability to lead by example.
Execution and Delivery: You will be expected to instill and follow good software development practices and ensure timely delivery of features as per the Sprint cycles. You should be familiar with agile practices as well as be able to adapt these to the needs of the business, with a constant focus on product quality.
Team management: You will be responsible for mentoring your team; Delegating the right work tasks to team members and ensuring the target delivery goals are achieved.
Project Lead mandatory Skills:
- Total of 10+ years' IT experience, including 8+ years in leading large-scale Big Data Analytics applications and projects
- Strong experience in platform administration and defining integration patterns for cloud-based data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Redshift.
- Ability to work closely with Scrum masters and teams for daily planning, sprint & release planning, tracking project plans, and gathering business requirements.
- Excellent skills in collaborating with business users, Product teams, operationalizing delivered products, and working closely with Cloud operations and Architecture teams. Experience in implementing scalable and secure AWS platform solutions, with a strong liaison in day-to-day operational and strategic tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of IT experience in a highly qualified function such as IT Leader, in the area of Data and Analytics with strong exposure to Platform Architecture and Engineering. 8+ years Analytics / Big Data experience, proven skills & experience in solution design in a highly qualified technical function and global matrix organization
Tools & Technologies
- Strong experience in setting up Analytics tools like Dataiku, RStudio, Jupyter HUB for Business users.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Python and its packages. Good understanding of setting up & implementing products with Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins.
- Strong knowledge on versioning and managing code repositories using Bitbucket and package management with JFrog Artifactory.
- Strong understanding of security and vulnerability tools like Checkmark, SonarQube, Wiz. Good knowledge of implementing monitoring frameworks using AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, and optionally Grafana, Prometheus.
AWS Skills
- Strong understanding of AWS design and services, particularly EC2, IAM roles and policies, VPC & networking concepts, and ADFS. Experience in deploying AWS EKS multi-tenant clusters for running applications like Dataiku, RStudio, and similar analytical tools.
- Strong knowledge of AWS ECS, Fargate, and Athena services and their implementation. Solid understanding of building and deploying scalable SDK APIs & REST APIs with AWS services.
- Good understanding of cost management for AWS services and enabling chargeback for services like Snowflake, Dataiku, etc. Good understanding of implementing authorization processes with knowledge of LDAP integration, SSO, SAML federated access, and AWS ADFS integration.
Security & Governance
- Strong understanding of data security platform Immuta and its enterprise-level setup. Good understanding of Security & Compliance processes for setting up tools, including GxP practices and handling strictly confidential data.
- Experience working with Security & Compliance teams to implement governance and compliance best practices. Good understanding of implementing well-defined and industry-standard Change Management processes and User Onboarding processes.
