You will help the Analytics & Testing team make sure that our syringes, pens, autoinjectors etc. meet the highest customer standards. You will do this as part of a team of experts in the device development teams by developing, planning, and performing the right tests in the Device Testing Laboratory in Schaftenau. This will be mechanical functional testing and will not include any bioanalytical testing.

About the Role
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designing, planning and performing laboratory functional testing of medical devices and drug combination products, including vials, syringes, needle safety devices, auto-injectors, pen-injectors, on-body pumps, or ophthalmic drug delivery devices
- Measuring key parameters like injection forces, injection times, dose accuracy, device physical dimensions, with state of the art equipment like customized tensile testers, CT scanners, and CMMs
- Generating and reviewing test reports
- Contributing to qualification and maintenance of analytical equipment
- Supporting method development, validation and transfer
- Participating in root cause investigations for complaints or out of spec results
- Writing/reviewing lab related SOPs.
- Collaborating with other functions in development to ensure strong analytical data-packages for drug-device combination products
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s Or Master's degree in engineering or natural sciences (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a laboratory gained in a university or industrial setting, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical area
- A strong interest or the desire to learn the multidisciplinary area of medical devices and combination products.
- Collaborative spirit, self-driven attitude, high level of learning agility
- Strong communication / negotiation skills, listening skills, the ability to actively reach out and the ability to understand and connect across functions
- Excellent skills in English, verbal and written. Other language skills, e.g. German are advantageous.

In addition to a market-competitive base salary, we offer an attractive incentive program, a modern company pension scheme, childcare facilities, learning and development opportunities as well as worldwide career possibilities within the Novartis group. In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is €55,610.59 /year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job-sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
