Summary

Location: Basel, Switzerland Role Purpose: This position is for an Analytical Expert with a strong focus on GMP analytics to support CHAD (Chemical and Analytical Development). CHAD is part of the Technical R&D department of Development and is responsible to deliver drug substances (classical small molecules, radioligand therapies and siRNAs) for clinical studies. This responsibility encompasses process and analytical development, as well as GMP manufacture. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Expert with a strong background and experience in GMP analytics. You will be part of the IAO (Integrated Analytical Operations) GMP team. This team is responsible for all GMP laboratory analytical activities for CHAD Switzerland.

About the Role

Your responsibilities as an Analytical Expert:

• Plan and manage the GMP analytical activities (releases, method validation etc...) for a timely delivery of results

• Write, review and/or approve analytical documentation in timely and high-quality fashion, such as releases, analytical batch records, etc. ensuring compliance with Novartis and health authorities' guidelines

• Provide scientific guidance to the laboratory associates

• Manage interactions and contribute to a high level of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

• Evaluate and implement new analytical methodologies for GMP purposes.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Desirable: PhD in analytical chemistry or equivalent and a minimum 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in analytical development. A Master degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience will also be considered

• GMP experience in an analytical laboratory is a must.

• Strong knowledge in analytical separation techniques such as liquid and gas chromatography. Experience in method development and troubleshooting.

• Expertise in Mass Spectrometry is a plus.

• Strong coordination skills, collaborative spirit, self-driven attitude, high level of learning agility are key attitudes
