About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Lead and build the communications strategy and capabilities for designated part of business,anticipate and manage risk to Novartis reputation advise management of reputational risk associated with specific activity.
- Lead the successful implementation of communications activities in key projects and programs in the relevant business and geographic areas.
- Provide expertise in a single communications area and broad knowledge of several diverse areas.
- Counsel senior management in all aspects of communications and develop communications messages around key programs and initiatives.
- Oversee the management and development of teams globally and allocate communication resources and personnel to meet business objectives and coordinate communication teams to ensure implementation of strategy /action plans.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders,ensure consistency of Novartis brand position in all communications.
- Build, monitor and evaluate the Functions performance to achieve and maintain best in class performance, while being fully consistent with the evolving legal, regulatory and compliance environment.
- Direct the development, review and approval of Communications policies and procedures, ensuring alignment.
- Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt -Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable)
Key performance indicators:
- Impact of communications strategies on organizational goals and alignment of communication activities with business objectives; recognition of their quality.
- Maturity and effectiveness of business relationships at all levels of the organization and with relevant external parties -Feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- In all teams with functional/discipline responsibility: Quality of expertise and skill base; Quality of functional talent and talent development plans group-wide
