The Commercial Lead establishes company culture and strategy for Zolgensma and the gene therapy portfolio in order to maximize business growth. He/she is accountable for the launch preparation and execution. He/she is also accountable for driving disease awareness, educating customers on gene therapy and associated patient support programs and education with respect to the product.

About the Role

Major Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivering brand performance with respect to sales, market share, and profitability to meet or exceed budget targets.
  • Communicate and coordinate, according to guidelines, with cross-functional team in the country, Cluster, and Region to identify solutions to support the unified patient journey and improve it, where needed.
  • Facilitate networking among centers to improve the unified patient journey including genetic testing pathways (building referral networks).
  • Engage with external stakeholders to drive disease awareness, as is appropriate and according to compliance guidelines.
  • Develop and foster relationships with SMA specialists and multi-disciplinary teams, in order to inform them, in accordance with the law in force, about the product.
  • Implement and track progress of local business plan in relation with the promotion of the product.
  • Outline actionable goals for gene therapy business over five-year planning period and integrate efforts of local operations and support areas based on internal capability, market fit, competitive dynamics and corporate expectations.
  • Develop, implement and update a country action plan; analysis, identification of key customers, issues and opportunities and tactics/activities. This will include a plan for engagement with KOLs, PAG groups and relevant public affairs stakeholders working together with the Medical Lead, as well as with Head of Patient Access/Public Affairs.

Requirements:

  • University degree in business and/or science
  • English, fluent - written and spoken
  • Thorough understanding of marketing operations and science
  • Thorough understanding of product life-cycle management
  • >5 years operational Pharma marketing and sales experience in rare diseases, on top of the other areas relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in managing relationships with external stakeholders (contract negotiations, establishing commercial and financial conditions, special campaigns, management of claims);
  • Business and sales result oriented on a permanent basis, capacity to enhance sales and achieve targets
  • Proven negotiation skills and exceptional analytical drive
