About the Role

Role Title: Assoc. Dir. DD&IT Dev. Supplier Management

Location: Hyderabad

Role Purpose:

  • Ensure best practices in engaging with Novartis supplier base are adopted, own the IT supplier strategy for DDIT Development in alignment with the overall DDIT Supplier strategy.
  • Operationalizes the outsourcing strategy working with Opex Head and function line management
  • Build relationship with strategic partners and leverage their capabilities to deliver on core and differentiated products/services across DDIT Development.
  • Engage with and advise function leadership on the most appropriate/best practice supplier engagement models, location footprint, vendor consolidation activities, and supplier strategy.
  • Governs supplier performance through periodic operational and strategic governance calls for strategic suppliers, acts as contractual escalation point for non-strategic suppliers
  • Identify contract optimization opportunities and execute

Major Accountabilities:

  • Actively manages supplier performance for the DDIT Development function
  • Owns contractual deliverables and obligations for all contracts within DDIT Development function
  • Maintains and builds strong relationships with key suppliers within DDIT Development function
  • Effectively handles with contractual/account level escalations for the function
  • Engage actively with Industry peers and bring outside-in perspectives on emerging trends, ensure IT Supplier Strategy is understood and followed within the function. Manage IT Supplier Strategy deviations, justifications, and exceptions approval process.
  • Support function teams in ensuring technical and operational requirements of the function are properly understood, documented, and considered in supplier engagements. Participate in supplier selection, including in setting selection and evaluation criteria.
  • Engage with the broader IT Supplier Management organization to ensure consistent and best practice support regarding Supplier Governance, Service Delivery Excellence, and License Management
  • Support Quarterly Strategic Partner Reviews, bi-annual Executive Reviews, and regular cross functional Strategic Partner interaction meetings, ensuring superior quality and follow through on actions
  • Collaborate and proactively engage with supplier account teams, Novartis global IT functions, IT Procurement, and other supporting functions, in managing the supplier governance structures and processes.
  • Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within supplier management scope.

KPIs

  • Sustainable optimization of supplier engagements (i.e. number of consolidations, delivery model improvements, negotiations, and demand management).
  • Quality of supplier engagements / relationships.
  • Customer satisfaction and escalation resolution (i.e. satisfaction of DDIT “customers” and supplier account leads).
  • Accurate, consistent, and high-quality reporting on DDIT supplier performance.

Education & Qualification

  • University Degree and/or relevant experience in Vendor Management/ Account Management and professional qualifications
  • IT Program / Project Delivery exposure a plus

Experience:

  • Overall 15+ year of experience including 5+ years of Vendor Management experience
  • Proficient in contract performance management and vendor management in the IT Space
  • Proven ability to develop trust-based relationships with key stakeholders
  • Well-developed record of successful relationship management
  • Industry/ Business Exposure, Strategy Development, Project Management, People Leadership, Interactions with senior management
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior managers and executives
  • Proven capability to manage an organization with direct/ indirect reporting in a matrix set-up
  • Capable of working in an international environment with virtual teams/resources and with non-co-located stakeholders
  • Learning flexibility and willingness to try new things - Self-managed, strong initiative & multi-tasker
  • IT Procurement / Negotiating expertise a plus

Skills & Knowledge

  • Continuous improvement experience from measurement through to implementation
  • Project/product stakeholder management
  • Proven track rack record in large, preferably global, multi-team projects dealing with complex process areas and business groups
  • Ability to operate in matrix organization
  • Unbossed Leadership, Influencing and persuading
  • Consulting, Facilitation, IT Governance
  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry a plus
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
