Summary
As the HSE Specialist, you will be a member of the Indianapolis HSE Team and support our Indy campus which includes a Radioligand Therapy (RLT) drug manufacturing plant and our new, state-of-the art Lutetium Isotope manufacturing plant. Your responsibilities will evolve as the campus grows, develops, and matures.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep track of legislation and regulations regarding Health, Safety and Environment.
- Provide technical expertise, assistance, and/or oversight for the HSE programs at the campus, including radiation safety, occupational safety, and environmental compliance.
- Identify, assess and document Health, Safety and Environment risks to the employees and third parties at work (analysis of work areas) and recommend the necessary technical, Organization and personal protective measures in collaboration with the site HSE Team.
- Coordinate or introduce necessary Health Safety and Environment measurements and monitor the implementation of the protective measures.
- Assist the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) at the Isotope manufacturing plant by serving as an Authorized User and backup to the RSO, performing radiation surveys, radioactive waste management, and assisting with spill / contamination response.
- Support and/or conduct incident investigations and corrective/preventive action implementation
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure strict adherence to all applicable regulatory compliance standards and internal company standards for HSE, including Radiation Safety.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, health and safety, engineering, or related field or a minimum of 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a Health and Safety role.
- Experience building an injury and error-free culture with knowledge of multiple US compliance areas (EPA, OSHA, NRC, etc.) is required.
- Hazardous Waste Management
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in a cGMP environment
- Prior experience or training in radiation safety
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $97,600 and $146,400 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
