About the Role
To advance the siRNA-protein conjugate platform we are looking for a talented person to join the Bioconjugation and Analytics lab of BRC in Basel. You have collected hands-on technical laboratory experience during your studies and have the desire to work in a highly technical role within an interdisciplinary team? During the internship, you will be gaining theoretical and practical experience on the bioconjugation and downstream processing of different siRNA protein conjugates. You will be trained to run established physchem analytics, respectively to develop new analytical methods assessing the quality, stability and biophysical properties of siRNA protein conjugates.
Preferred start date: 1st of March 2025
Duration: 10 months / until end of 2025
Your responsibilities will include:
• Hands on conjugation using different proteins, linkers and siRNA
• Performance of physico-chemical characterizations using state-of-the-art analytical equipment including HPLC/UPLC systems and electrophoresis
• Support establishment of novel analytical methodologies
• Processing of data, results interpretation and preparation of summary documents and reports including poster presentations at the end of internship
• Learning on the job, independent literature search and elaboration/ proposal of new concepts
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Recent Master of Science in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related discipline; without work experience after graduation
• Languages: Proficiency in English (oral and written)
• Solid theoretical knowledge of protein and conjugation chemistry and analytical methods
• Practical experience in the field of liquid chromatography during your studies is of advantage
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Problem-solving oriented and working skillfully
• Team player attitude, interest in drug discovery
