Work in partnership with other TT Functions and teams to drive continual improvement holistically across TT to improve effectiveness and efficiency of services, practices and all other elements required for the provision of services with increased focus on customer satisfaction -Keeps oversight and coordination of service improvement plans (SIP) across TT to ensure end -to -end integration -Contributes to establishment of a harmonized performance management framework across TT, standardizing reports/dashboards and ensuring common metrics and KPIs to consistently assess the health of the whole organization including the aspects of operations, services, products, and workforce -Continuously measure and monitor the overall performance of the TT organization identifying opportunities for further improvement, optimization, and -standardization

About the Role

The Technology Strategy & Integration Lead drives the continuous transformation and improvement of the Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance (PS&PV) function in Novartis through the definition and implementation of strategic technology capabilities. Responsible for leading the definition of the technology strategy, aligned to the enterprise technology strategy and architecture, and driving its implementation into the existing landscape, in collaboration with the Data, Digital and IT organization.  The successful candidate will lead the business engagement and stakeholder management across PS&PV, to understand the key strategic needs and technology capabilities required to realize the agile and digital aspirations of Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance. 

Your key responsibilities, but not limited to;

  • Lead the definition of the end-to-end technology strategy and landscape for PS&PV, in alignment with enterprise standards and architecture.
  • Define and maintain the technology strategy realization roadmap, identifying priorities for investment to ensure continued improvement in technology capabilities to drive simplification and agility.
  • Accountable for the successful integration of technology changes into the existing PS&PV landscape while ensuring high-availability and minimal disruption to operationally critical systems.
  • Lead the agile execution of technical point of contacts with a well-defined business case to ensure effective and controlled realization of fit-for-purpose solutions and system changes
  • Responsible for the definition of the data strategy for PS&PV in alignment with the enterprise data strategy, ensuring compliance with FAIR principles to maximize interoperability, and enabling operational reporting, advanced analytics, and the application of AI/ML solutions.
  • Act as the SME regarding external technology capabilities and competitive landscape to drive state of the art processes, technologies, and methodologies are being applied within PS&PV
  • Lead the business engagement and stakeholder management activities between the Technology and Systems team and the other functions within PS&PV to ensure clear understanding of strategic priorities and technology demands.
  • Drive the cross-functional alignment and impact assessment of technology changes within the Technology & Systems team, based on key input from other business functions
  • Lead key workstreams of strategic programs related to technology selection and system and data integration, when required.

Desirable skills:

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 8+ years of multi / cross functional international leadership experience.
  • Proven people leadership and operational capabilities.
  • Consulting experience and proven track record of developing and implementing innovation, strategies and processes is a plus.
  • Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with senior level business and technical partners.
  • Strong data management experience is desired.
  • Proven track record in working across a matrix organization and demonstrates expert skills in building partnerships, negotiating agreements; excels at collaboration with diverse internal and external organizations.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment and motivate the team to do the same.

Educational Background:

University education (minimum master’s degree), preferably PhD degree; Advanced degree in technology or data science desired.

Languages:

Proficiency in English. Understanding in another major language (e.g. French, German, Spanish) preferred.
