Summary
About the Role
The role holder will determine vision and be responsible for all strategies for the Novartis Knowledge Center (NKC) to develop world class services, for building new solutions and ensuring an effective adoption and value measurement strategy. The role holder will be a leader in the industry for information, knowledge management and library services, as well as innovation, artificial intelligence and technology transformation. Excellent senior leadership stakeholder management skills at all levels in the enterprise, team leadership and strategic vision are also required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build vision and strategies to support world-class information and knowledge services
- High-touch stakeholder relationships across all divisions that utilize NKC services, including strategic engagement
- Drive the innovation agenda for NKC specifically and MKS in general
- Plan and manage the resources of NKC to meet current needs as well as plan for future initiatives
- Monitor colleague satisfaction to meet set KPIs
- Ensure delivery of financial targets for NKC
- Global leadership across Novartis Corporate Centers (NOCCs), engaging and overseeing performance management and career development of NKC associates in all locations
- Build talent pipeline, succession plans and provides leadership for career development paths
- Identify and drive solutions with other Solutions and Capabilities, where applicable
Role requirements
- Education: Advanced Science Degree minimum; Business Degree desirable
- Pharmaceutical company experience (minimum 15 years)
- Languages: English, written and verbal
- Extensive information service experience (information, knowledge and/or library experience)
- Technology transformation and adoption, ideally with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Excellent communication, people management, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Strong and proactive business result focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase productivity
- Credible external network and respected external profile in the technology, information, knowledge and library domains
